Position Overview: They are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chartered Structural Engineer to lead and manage the structural engineering team. The successful candidate will oversee the design, analysis, and delivery of structural engineering projects, ensuring that all work complies with relevant regulations and standards, while managing a team of engineers and liaising with clients to ensure successful project outcomes. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized professional body (e.g., Institution of Structural Engineers, ICE, IStructE). A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record in project management and efficient structural delivery. They will consider candidates with little team leadership as director level mentoring to help support the manager will be in place. Strong technical expertise in structural design, analysis, and materials, with experience in a wide range of building types and construction methods. Demonstrable experience coordinating complex and simple projects. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, Tedds, etc.). In-depth knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations. Desirable Skills & Experience: Experience in managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects. Knowledge of sustainability practices and building performance optimisation. Business development experience, including client relationship management and proposal preparation. Previous experience working in a consultancy environment.
